Just a few hours removed from the retirement news that 12-year veteran safety Troy Polamalu was retiring from the NFL, the Pittsburgh Steelers reportedly made a deal with fellow veteran Will Allen, re-signing the 32 year-old as a back pocket option for safety depth.

Allen took to Twitter to verify the news that he was excited to return to the Steelers lineup in 2015.
Excited to be back in the black and gold + be a part of this great city! #steelersnation #pittsburgh… http://t.co/NwXpeqdWoz — Will Allen 20 (@WillAllenWAF) April 10, 2015
With Allen and fellow veteran safety Mike Mitchell as bookends, the 2015 NFL Draft and training camp should provide the Steelers an opportunity to find talent that can compliment and push Shamarko Thomas who enters his third year with Pittsburgh.
