It is highly likely the Pittsburgh Steelers will be without starting running back Le’Veon Bell and backup LeGarrett Blount Thursday versus the Philadelphia Eagles. On Wednesday afternoon, Colin Dunlap of CBS Pittsburgh (KDKA) reported that Bell and Blount and an unidentified female were pulled over by Ross Township Police around 1:30 p.m.
Allegedly, during the traffic stop, law enforcement discovered that Bell, who was driving a black Camaro, was impaired. Bell was charged with DUI as well as marijuana possession. Blount and the unidentified female were also charged for possession of marijuana.
Dunlap posted the following on Twitter:
Steelers RB Le’Veon Bell & RB LeGarrette Blount charged by Ross Twp Police today w marijuana poss. Bell also charged w DUI after stop today.

Blount and Bell had 20 grams of marijuana…were in black Camaro. Unidentified female with two — also charged. All three “cooperative”

No comment has become available from the Ross Township Police Department since the incident was originally reported.

There are no good words to describe this other than pure stupidity and very poor judgement . What were they thinking ? Driving around with the windows down and all three smoking pot . Now youre facing league suspensions at some point on top of everything else . Makes no sense whatsoever .

Yes, Dave. Very poor judgment indeed. But the suspensions won’t come until next year, according to the Post-Gazette article this morning. The real kicker is that they face regular drug testing the rest of their careers; one slip, and its a four-game suspension. Whatever their comparative merits as running backs, at least Redman and Dwyer didn’t do this.

Yeah and one can’t help but think that that distraction has carried over to eastern pa where an inept eagles d is stifling the steelers so called high powered offense. I hate Tomlin and this team will be 6-10 this year!
