Here we go Steeler Nation, it’s game time and we’re ready to rock in Baltimore, as the Steelers and Ravens fight it out for first in the division.
Leave your comments throughout, and let’s have some fun!
Oh my gosh, that walking boot looks like Ben is going to be severely hampered tonight.
Awesome start on D, good to see Ziggy Hood get a sack!
Great play on 3rd, they get the first down on a make it as you go play by Ben to Redmen
One series, and Ben looks like he’s been through a 10 round fight with Tyson
A series that could change the game, 10 plays, 92 yards, 7:10, Ravens up 7-0
Gotta respond here, can’t believe they wasted good field position twice though
Big play for Mike Wallace, gets them some field position

Difference between Ravens and Steelers is the Ravens got better at key positions (wide receiver) in the off season and Pitt got worse (Santonio) or stayed the same (defensive backfield is weak in cornerback position.)

It’s clear to all that we ARE NOT going to get fair officiating under the Godell regime.

The offense has wasted two drives already with good field position, that’s not good, you know the birds offense will get going eventually

Sure looked like a hands to the face on Rice on Troy on that third down, but again, no call

That’s what happens when you only rush 3. Gotta bring more guys than that. Can’t give Flacco that much time.

Gotta get off the field on 3rd downs…that drive was ridiculous

steelers have 2 problems as i see it: their pass defense and their oline. ravens will get pressure all night, we will only get pressure if we blitz then expose our shitty secondary. such a frustrating thing.

Good start on first down, 7 yards…they need an 80 yard drive in the worst of ways here

December 5, 2010 at 9:09 pm
They had a shot there on 3rd and 15…Troy needed to make that play and get past Rice, that was the killer

Dodged another bullet, now the offense needs to step up and make some plays

Flozell Adams is a bust to me, my money is him not being in black and gold in 2011

In the glass half full department, it’s as good as a punt, and like seeing them start at their own two.

if we get away with holding them to 7 in the 1st half, then we’ll be sooo lucky

Agree cbo, they have dodged a number of bullets already this first half, and get the ball in the second half to start

I think Sepulvada is out for the game?

Can anyone tell me why we always leave the secondary open on 3rd and long. Just like that near safety in the 1st quarter, 2 points is not worth leaving the rest of the field open. Why did they call for blitz. It is typical for the Steelers to leave the field open in hopes for a sack, when we already have good position. Help me out. I’m thinking John Gruden would be willing to make those changes we need in the secondary faster than Tomlinson has this whole season.

Wow… interesting hard-hitting game…
Hines drops one, Ben is way off, but the ‘burgh is only down 7!
Redman had a couple good runs because they’re keying on Mendenhall. I wonder if Arians will quit running Mendy up the middle or off right tackle on every first down just like he’s done all season? One of the problems with Arians is that he lacks imagination, and our plays are too conservative, which means there’s little new that shows up after half-time. I have yet to watch a game where the Steelers have come out in the second half with a totally different game plan and approach from the first half.
The game against New Orleans showed textbook half-time adjustments and a very different second half with some very well drawn-up plays – from the Saints. The Steelers made no changes that game. Same against New England. Same today, or will Arians surprise us?
Our defense looks good for the most part, but we now know (although we’ve guessed it all season) why the Cardinals gave up B Mac, don’t we?
Why is ARE returning punts? He just fair catches… get Brown back there and keep him back!
Kudos to Redman for some excellent backfield blocks. Kudos for David Johnson, and I hope next year another young TE is brought in and Spaeth let go.
Kudos to Suisham for those two punts.
Kudos to Manny Sanders who is learning how to run routes. Now if Ben can only hit him in the numbers a couple times!
Why do we see less draws, screens, and other plays that beat rushes from the Steelers than from most all the other teams in the NFL?
The Steelers get the ball back to start the second half… if the first play is a hand-off to Mendy up the middle the team is in trouble… but if it’s a successful pass play…………….

Suisam looks better than Sepulveda kicking

Steelers ever run the ball anymore? Shot gun..what about running the ball? Ariens needs to get another job. Pass happy isn’t working well in general, not just with Ravens but in general.

Steve, running the ball is great, but the Steelers need a fullback because the run blocking isn’t effective enough, especially going up against a front 7 like the Ravens have, and Arians prefers tall tight ends to go back there…. a tight end can’t get low enough to take out linebackers. That’s one reason the running game doesn’t work.
The other reason is obvious – Arians’ plays are too conservative, too unimaginative, and too predictable. And if some draws and reverses or pitch outs aren’t in our game plan, the defense can read the runs before they happen.
Why do the Steelers almost never have 2 back sets = Mendy & Redman together?

Arians is complete jag off. He has no idea how to prepare for, call or adjust a game. I hate that bastard. Tell me why there has only been one play-action pass for the entire game. 2nd and two and this jerk doesn’t bother w a play action. They need to fire that dolt!

1st & goal… 2 runs (with Flozell out)… then a pass out wide to a receiver at the line of scrimmage… not one pass into the end zone on those 3 plays….. someone please shoot Arians after shooting the referees!
