The defending Super Bowl champions and the Tennessee Titans will kick off the 2009 NFL season in primetime. The Titans won their first 10 games of the 2008 season and finished with the best record in the NFL (13-3). They defeated the Steelers 31-14 in Week 16, but the Steelers didn’t lose another game after that on their way to the championship.
The Steelers look to extend their winning streak to four games over division rival Baltimore. They defeated the Ravens three times last year: On a 46-yard field goal in overtime, on a controversial touchdown call to lock up the AFC North title, and finally in the AFC Championship game.
In a rematch of the divisional playoff game in January, the Steelers host the San Diego Chargers in Week 4 on Sunday Night Football. Chargers QB Philip Rivers, who threw for 308 yards and three touchdowns in the loss, will be looking for payback in primetime.
