Earlier this week, Steelers wide receiver Martavis Bryant posted on Snapchat that he was in New York City and had a “big day” upcoming.
A source told Alex Marvez of the Sporting News Bryant met Thursday with the NFL’s Management Council as part of his efforts for reinstatement from a year-long drug suspension. Among the conditions for being cleared to play again, Bryant was told to assemble a plan detailing safeguards that would help him prevent a relapse upon returning to Pittsburgh, the source said.
Bryant also will have to meet with Commissioner Roger Goodell or one of his representatives once the league’s medical director and medical advisor submit their recommendation about reinstatement per the NFL’s substance-abuse policy.
Bryant was suspended last March after failing multiple drug tests, derailing the career of one of the league’s top young wideouts. Bryant, 25, averaged 17.3 yards on 76 catches during his first two seasons and scored 14 touchdowns.
Bryant has shared videos of his training and a photo of his infant son wearing a Steelers beanie on Instagram in recent weeks, all of which can be considered positive signs of a turnaround. Bryant also posted a photo Friday of Steelers chairman Dan Rooney, who died Thursday at age 84 , with the message, “RIP Mr. Rooney may God be with his family.”

If hes reinstated and he manages to stay clean , the Steelers will have the best offense in the NFL , barring an injury . There will be no way to double team him or Brown because the other one will be one on one with the defender . The possibilities are endless .

I want to trade Bryant and Seneguez Golson to the Cleveland Browns for a cup of coffee but that might be too high an asking price for a cup of coffee

What you need to do is trade YOURSELF to the Clevend Browns for a cup of “urine” that would be the right price for your heartless mindset.

I love how Steelers homer yinzers get so wildly offended when someone has something derogatory to say about the Steelers as if the black and gold are untouchable and way beyond any measure of sarcasm or scorn.

Hey Jay , go root for the Cryboys . You call yourself a Steeler fan ? All you do is find fault and bash them at every chance you get . Thats not a fan and it never will be . They cant do anything to please you so why do you bother ? My advice , is find another team and while youre at it , find another site to scream your wild rants on . Frankly , were all tired of hearing it .

Hey Davey B, are you saying that the Steelers are beyond criticism of any kind? You are talking about Jay going to root for the Cryboys, but this same Steelers Gab website had an article about Ezekiel Elliott back in April. Maybe you think that you are smarter than anyone else, but remember your a big fan of Jarvis Jones and Justin Gilbert.

Your comment is so utterly ignorant and completely untrue that I’ll simply leave it right there . You really need to get your facts straight before you confront someone , otherwise , you look like a complete idiot .

I don’t care how you label me, fan, not a fan, indifferent, overzealous, whatever. It’s how I feel and I’ll voice my opinion however I want regardless of how you or anyone else feels about it. Grow a thicker skin and let blame fall where it may!

Jay , Tread lightly my friend , Im not one you want to start something with . I can go from now till the end of time. You come on this site and blame Tomlin for everything from faking the moon landing to the Kennedy assasination . Mike Tomlin is not perfect and hes made his share of mistakes and I myself have been as vocal as anyone when it comes to that . However , heres the deal . Tomlin isnt going anywhere and all the screaming , cussing and wild rants isnt going to change that . Theres a reason the Steelers have only had three head coaches since 1969 and youre looking at it . Tomlin and his team can come out this year and have a 4 – 12 season with all the offensive talent they have on the roster and it wont change a thing . Hes not going anywhere . He may be asked to fire an assistant or two , but his job is as secure as it ever was . Thats the Steeler way and theyve been doing it that way for more than five deacades . Do I agree with it , at times , no I dont , but thats the way it is . Lastly , there is only one team in the NFL that has won six Super Bowls and that is the Pittsburgh Steelers . They’re not changing the way they do buisness . My advice , accept it , you’ll sleep better .

I know he’s not going anywhere! My grandfather used to say, “wish in one hand and shit in the other and see which fills faster!” I’m not trying to act all tough on here. I’m VENTING! My expectations for the Steelers and yours are obviously different! The last five years Tomlin has turned the locker room into a joke with his unaccountability first mentality, inability to play against inferior teams on a regular basis and continual inability to beat New England ( hey, Baltimore does it, Denver does it!)! The standard I hold him to is the old school chuck noll bill Cowher standard which he repeatedly regurgitates but never comes close to emulating. He’s a joke and he’s turned the organization into a joke COMPARATIVELY SPEAKING! Maybe you should accept that.
