2. Defense Overcomes Slow Start
Baker Mayfield and the Browns offense put up some early impressive numbers as the Steelers started very slow, but once they were able to get to Mayfield, they put a serious hurt on the Browns the rest of the day.
They held Cleveland to 237 total yards, were just 3-of-13 on third downs, and Mayfield was 22-of-36 for 180 yards with two scores and a pretty pick by Joe Haden.
The defensive game plan was to pressure Mayfield, and he wasn’t able to slide a lot out of the pocket, and the defense overall did a great job on making sure to limit the big plays.
They sacked Mayfield twice, but the bigger story was holding the Browns to 85 second half yards, with a number of it coming in the final drive in garbage time.
If the defense plays like this in Baltimore next week, they will continue to push their lead in the AFC North.
