2. The Fourth Down Flubs
The Steelers were already in a hole when they went for it on 4th-and-1 on the Jags 21, and instead of sneaking Big Ben, they did a pitch out to Le’Veon Bell, who managed to lose four yards.
That exact Steelers drive saw the team have success running between the tackles, so what do they do on 4th down – a wide pitch out right to the heart of the Jags D.
Then later on they did it again, with the Steelers having blocked a punt down seven at the Jags 48, they ran three plays for 9 yards, and this time on 4th down they tried a pass play, and the ball went off the hands of JuJu Smith-Schuster.
Again, how about a quarterback sneak?
Tweets seemed to indicate that Ben Roethlisberger each time changed the play, and if that’s the case, shame on him for not just putting his head behind Markuice Pouncey and going a quarter of a yard for a first down.
Those two changes of possessions was yet again another huge reason why this team won’t be playing next week.

I’m a life long fan. This team is unwatchable as long as Tomlin, Haley, and Butler are on the payroll. If any of those three are still coaching this team, then shame on the ownership. This talented group of athletes has been coached into mediocrity. Shame, Shame, Shame.

Dan…they all need to be fired, but you know the shame of the Rooney family to a fault. They keep head coaches forever and this does not bode well for this day and age where you need new visions. Kevin Colbert has done a great job getting talent, but the coaching staff has not lived up to the expectations of this talented team.

After blowing several years of failing to win the big one we failed again. Its about time The Rooney’s take a good hard look at our coaches. With the talent on this team the last 5 years the necessary steps to correct it has not been addressed by our coaches. We lose games we should win during the season, win the rest then lose the ones that can count in the end. This is a recurring problem with these coaches and has wasted the best years of our talented team. This team is only short a few defensive players short of being a powerhouse. I know we have had a few good seasons win wise but the grand prize has eluded us because of our defense. The Offense is the best in The NFL but the defense is laughable. We make average QBs look like Gods picking us apart. A NFL franchise noted for defense is now the laughing stock of the league. Where were our safeties and linebackers this year? Where is the discipline? If we cannot draft what we need then go free agency to get them. Tomlin is accepting mediocrity with his coaches and players. Don’t be a player coach, be a team coach and demand we get what we need! If we want to be the best, then get it anyway possible. Offensive and defensive coaches have got to go and Tomlin needs to be a Drill Sargent instead of a buddy. Joe Hayden was an improvement but not enough. Mitchell has got to go, he can’t stop the deep passes and takes bad angles on the run. Where was Dupree? I feel a good safety a inside linebacker and a nose tackle would make this team unbeatable. Mr. Rooney this is not fair to the fans and the entire city to let this go and not address it. Just not my opinion but the opinion of all Steeler fans.
