1. Contain Fournette
Jaguars running back Leonard Fournette is starting to show the wear of his rookie season, as he’s not reached 100 yards in six of his last seven games, including last weeks’ wild card win over the Bills where he ran for 57 yards.
The Steelers have to make sure to not allow Fournette to get going, as his two biggest games came (of course) against the Steelers when he busted out for 181 yards, and then went for 130 yards the next week in a Jags loss to the Rams.
Don’t allow the rookie back to get going, gang tackle him and make him feel the pain of playing in ice cold temps at Heinz Field, and just like Bortles the Jags will find it very hard to put up many points.
Prediction: There’s no doubt that the Steelers should win this game, as they are touchdown favorites to do so, and for good reason. Their offense has been in sync for most of the season since that awful loss to the Jags, and their defense should be more on track enough to hold down a Jags team that has scored one offense TD in the last two games.
This isn’t to say this is going to be a cakewalk, but the Steelers need to put up points early, make the Jags play from behind, and all should be well as they make yet another run into the AFC Title game. Look for Ben and Bell to pick up the slack, and even if Antonio Brown does wind up playing, the Steelers will have enough to get a win and keep their season going. Steelers 24 Jaguars 13
