3. Many Happy Returns
Not only did the Steelers get out of Houston healthy, they also got back some players who played at a high level which should give fans even more confidence should there be a rematch with the Pats.
Joe Haden, who did an excellent job against DeAndre Hopkins, stepped up and played well, and Marcus Gilbert, who returned to the team Saturday in the move that saw the team release James Harrison, also played great in the blowout win.
Getting Haden back is huge, as it shores up a secondary which was getting questioned by plenty of folks after the late letdown to the Pats when Tom Brady marched them downfield for the winning score.
He played about as well against Hopkins as could be expected for a player who is coming back from a major injury, and between he and the way Mike Hilton played with three sacks, it was a great outing for the secondary.
As for Gilbert, it was right back to business as usual, and he stepped up and played well enough for the offense to pile on points, opening holes for the run game and protecting Ben Roethlisberger.
