Everyone in Steeler Nation is on pins and needles when it comes to the team getting a long term deal done with running back Le’Veon Bell as the clock is getting closer to midnight.
Bell and the Steelers have until 4 p.m. today to reach some type of agreement, as that’s the deadline for long-term contracts for franchise-tagged players.
There’s been plenty of speculation as to what Bell is going to do at this point, as he’s never inked his $12.1 million tender, which means is a deal isn’t reached by 4pm today, he may just decide to sit out the upcoming teams training camp until something gets done, or he finally inks the tender.
There is some good news about Bell, that being he is reportedly fully recovered and ready to go from surgery in March, and if he can agree to a deal or decides to ink his tender, he should be 100 percent for camp.
The Steelers need him, and at least for 2017, he needs them. It would be in everyone’s best interest for the two sides to get a long term deal in the bank to keep his services for a long time, but unless there’s some serious advancement today, that does not look likely to happen.

Sign him for 1 year – let him prove he can play a full season + playoffs. He hasn’t played a full season yet.
