In a move that is sure to make Steelers fans thrilled, the team today signed linebacker James Harrison to a two-year contract, Jeremy Fowler of ESPN.com reports.
The deal is worth $3.5 million, a source told ESPN’s Adam Schefter.
“He’s excited to finish his career in Pittsburgh,” agent Bill Parise told ESPN.
The 38-year-old continues to play at a high level and be a leader on the Steelers defense. He has lost some speed from previous years, but he has maintained his elite strength, which he uses along with veteran savvy to effectively rush the passer.
Harrison outplayed his previous two-year, $2.75 million contract with 7.5 sacks in his last 11 games, including disruptive turns in the playoffs against the Dolphins and Chiefs.
