The Steelers were scheduled to have a Sunday night football game on December 18th on the road at Cincinnati in a game that’s been a bloodbath the past few seasons, but now fans won’t have to wait till 8:30 to see the two teams do battle.
The NFL announced tonight that the game has been ‘flexed’ out of the Sunday night slot, and instead will be replaced with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers at Dallas Cowboys matchup.
The game in Cincinnati between the Steelers and Bengals will take place at 1pm.
That game features Tampa, who are 7-5 and tied with the Falcons for the top spot in the NFC South, and the Cowboys are 11-1 and already in the postseason up on top of the NFC East.
As for the Steelers matchup, it doesn’t take away the importance of the game to the black and gold, as at 7-5 they take on the 6-6 Bills Sunday in Buffalo, and they will play at Cincy looking to stay at worst tied with the Ravens for the lead in the AFC North.
The Steelers defeated the Bengals 24-16 in week two in Pittsburgh in what was the Steelers home opener at Heinz Field.
