The Steelers will be getting a huge offensive weapon back this week with the return of running back Le’Veon Bell, and today the team received a roster exemption for him.
What that means is the team has until 4pm Eastern on Thursday to make a roster move to add Bell. More than likely with the number of injuries from Sunday the team will have a wait and see approach to the roster move.
There’s no question Bell is going to add to an offense that Sunday scored just three points and looked nothing like the offense that put up 62 points in the first two games.
DeAngelo Williams has 258 yards and a pair of TD’s 66 attempts this season, and also has 14 receptions. It will be interesting how Todd Haley uses the pair in the backfield starting this week against the Chiefs on Sunday night.

It will be nice to have Bell back, but his absence had nothing to do with what happened in Philly. D. Williams does just fine when he has holes to run through. Our defense must develop a pass rush and learn to cover receivers, our O-line must protect Ben and open holes for our backs. Bell can’t help with any of that.

So true , Dr. George . As good as Bell is , he cant rush the quarterback . Until they get that fixed , it wont matter .

I said, back in training camp, that Jarvis Jones should have been cut. Now, you know-it-all Dave B, I can say that I told you so. Cut Jones now that Bell is back. They will lose remaining cap money but who give a crap with wasted number 1.

No one said , and that includes me . that Jarvis Jones was the second coming of Jack Ham . I’ve said from day one that this was a make or break year for Jones . He either gets it done this year or hes gone . Thats what I said . Gets your facts straight because right now you dont .

Where did you get that I am inferring that You think Jarvis Jones is Jack Ham? You’re embellishing your statement about it.
The Steelers have to eventually get a roster spot to Bell. Since you have to cut someone who is worthless, I say that Jarvis Jones should be cut. He is one of the Steelers worst picks ever. Don’t cut Chickillo or Fort, because they at least make a tackle.

I agree he is a bust. I wanted him during the college season when he was coming out….then, when I saw how smallish he was and more fit to most likely be an OLB in a 4-3, I kind of raised a brow…Then I saw his combine results…NOTE: I AM NOT ONE WHO BELIEVES THAT THOSE NUMBERS ARE THE END ALL, BE ALL OF HOW GOOD A PLAYERS IS AND WHERE HE SHOULD BE DRAFTED…IT SHOULD ONLY BE USED AS AN ADDENDUM TO THE DRAFTING PROCESS…that being said, if you’re small, can’t run or jump i don’t care how good the tape is, he simply wasn’t a good fit. Now, all the contrarians say that if you don’t want someone then who else would you have taken…I don’t buy that…I am not the GM…its just like getting rid of tomlin. I don’t know who the replacement head coach should be…thats the GM’s job to figure that shit out…all i know is that I don’t want him coaching the team anymore…at any rate, I did want them to take Tyler Eifert when their pick came…yeah, he injured quite a bit but his production so far in his career is FAR SUPERIOR than jones’ when he is on the filed. Also, I’ll probably get a lot go criticism for this, I wanted Kelvin Benjamin when they took Shazier. Imagine Brown, Eifert and Benjamin and Le’veon in the red zone. So you go with Vince williams and Timmons at ILB and draft someone in the second or third round like a lot of teams did…(Minh-Mlb in 2nd round, Preston Brown in Buffalo-3rd round, Benardrick McKinney HOU 2nd rd., SAN DIEGO Denzell Perryman 2nd Rd., Kevin Minter, Mychal Kendricks, Jordan Hicks, etc.) I know it sounds like Revisionist history but Ryan Shazier is brittle man. He pulls a hammy getting in his car to go to work. It just seems like the steelers brass decided they were rebuilding the linebacking corps VIA first round picks come hell or high water and regardless who it was.
