The Steelers won’t have the services of offseason pickup tight end Ladarius Green for the first few weeks of the season, as today the team placed him on the PUP list.
Green has been a bust thus for the Steelers, a player they were hoping would be able to step in for the retired Heath Miller. So far Green hasn’t participated in workouts with the team.
He inked a four-year, $20 million contract this offseason, and was handed a $4.75 million dollar signing bonus. He won’t be eligible to return until after Week 6, so the earliest he can play will be the Week 7 matchup against the Patriots at Heinz Field.
Green wasn’t the only news for the black and gold on Tuesday, as the team also released safety Jacob Hagen, defensive tackle Devaunte Sigler and cornerback Kevin White.
The Steelers will have more moves to make later this week, as all teams must reduce their rosters to 53 players by Saturday, Sept. 3 at 4 p.m.

I said this before and I’ll say it again , they’re is more to this story than has been told . There was very little if any research done on this guy before he was signed . Colbert and Tomlin can say what they want but this was a desperation signing to replace Heath Miller and nothing more . This guy was damaged goods long before Pittsburgh signed him and the Chargers knew it . What makes no sense is , no one from the Steelers front office knew it . To hand this guy a 20 million dollar contract and a signing bonus worth nearly 5 million dolllars makes the Steelers look like , dare I say , the Cleveland Browns . One side says it headaches . The other side says its an ankle . Which is it ? At the end of the day , the Steelers front office looks as bad as its ever looked after this debacle . Bottom line , someone needs held accountable .

I agree but the political lens will prevail and the agenda setting talking heads will spin off the accountability to some indistinguishable event horizon where blame goes to die! Pathetic.
