The Pittsburgh Steelers announced their 2016 preseason schedule Thursday, and it includes games against the Detroit Lions, Philadelphia Eagles, New Orleans Saints, and Carolina Panthers.
The Steelers will begin their 2016 preseason with two home games. The first matchup will be against the Lions in week one and the Eagles in week two. Their third and fourth preseason games will be away and should be very entertaining. The last time Pittsburgh faced the Saints in a preseason battle in New Orleans was in 1992, quite a long time. In 2007, the two teams faced in the Hall of Fame game. The Panthers and the Steelers face each other in the last preseason game every year, but this matchup could be very interesting.
The Carolina Panthers obtained cornerback Brandon Boykin in free agency. His return to Pittsburgh might mean a little more to him than other matchups. Boykin and the Steelers hit a few rough patches last season, but he was very respectful to the organization and coaches as he waited to be called upon to contribute.
Last season the Steelers played in 5 preseason games, as they played the Minnesota Vikings in the NFL’s Hall of Fame game in Canton, Ohio. If you are interested in Pittsburgh’s 2016 opponents they are listed below along with the Preseason schedule in list format.

I meant to say in New Orleans. I will change that later today. Good catch. Appreciate it, EWS.
