6. The Cardinal Comeback
The Steelers looked awful in the first half of their October 18th home game against old pal Bruce Arians and the Cardinals at home, but thanks to an unfortunate injury to Michael Vick, it sparked a comeback that showed just how good this team could be. Landry Jones came in for Vick after he was hurt, and put on a show, throwing two scores as the Steelers topped Arizona 25-13. The second score put the game away after a Mike Mitchell end zone interception, an 88-yard catch and run by Martavis Bryant that sealed the big win to put the Steelers at 4-2 on the year.
5. AB Buries the Raiders
After two straight losses the Steelers played the upstart Raiders at home in week 9 in a game that was about as fun as any at the history of Heinz Field. The day belonged to Antonio Brown, who is the best wide out in the league right now, bar none. All AB did against the Raiders was catch 17 passes for 284 yards, including a late pass from backup Landry Jones in which he raced 57 yards with 45 seconds left with the game tied at 35 to set up Chris Boswell’s last play field goal for the win. An effort that will go down in the history books as one of the best for a Steelers wide out.
4. Ben’s Toughness vs Cleveland
Following a foot injury that looked like it would sideline him for a couple of weeks the week before against the Raiders, Big Ben rallied the week after and after Landry Jones was knocked out of the game on the opening drive against Cleveland, the Steelers franchise QB marched onto the field, and does what he always does against the Browns – dominate them. The QB threw for 379 yards and three scores as the Steelers improved to 6-4 with a 30-9 beat down at home over Cleveland. It wouldn’t be the first time Ben pushed through an injury.
