9. The Wizard of Boz
When not one, not two, but THREE Steelers kickers were either hurt or couldn’t get the job done, the Steelers turned to some guy named Chris Boswell, who no one really knew anything about. All he did in 12 games of the regular season was go 29-for-32 in field goals, and kicked 7 field goals in two posteason games. It’s going to be tough for the Steelers to go back to Shaun Suisham next season with how good Boswell was in 2015.
8. Year Two of Mike Mitchell
While I am still not the biggest Mike Mitchell supporter (think he goes for the big hits and celebrates too much), I will for sure give him his due for the way he rebounded in 2015 as compared to 2014. He was the best safety the Steelers had, and came up with some big stops during key moments in games. Yes, I’d like to see him be a little more under control during games, but it does appear he’s more at home in the Steelers Defense and should be even better in 2016.
7. Ryan Shazier’s Huge Day vs San Francisco
The second-year linebacker dominated an overmatched 49ers team in the Steelers second game of the season. Shazier went off for 15 total tackles (11 solo and 4 assists) with a forced fumble and a fumble recovery. He showed just how could he could be, and the was best player on the field on a day the Steelers blasted the 49ers 43-18.
