Desperate for a kicker who has some solid NFL experience, the Steelers today made a move with a former rival for a kicker that has seen plenty of time at Heinz Field.
That player is Jaguars long time kicker Josh Scobee, this according to Jeff Prosser of 1010XL in Jacksonville.
The Jaguars kicker has been with the team since 2004, and was a 4th round pick of the Jaguars. The Jags are going to go with young kicker Jason Myers as their new place kicker.
The Steelers have already lost two kickers this preseason, as Shaun Suisham tore his ACL in the Hall of Fame Game vs the Vikings, and Garrett Hartley hurt his hamstring Saturday, and it appears he’s going to miss at least the season opener.
Scobee kicked a number of times in Heinz Field over the years, and is a player that hopefully can hold the fort down either for the season or until Hartley returns.
