In a shoot-out of game in late December, Bell was a workhorse the entire game, rushing for 124 yards on 26 carries with a touchdown to add to his impressive day. It was a career-high for Bell at that point in time. The game proved that Bell could be counted on late in the season as the primary running back – Something only elite rushers can do. Also, Bell’s performance kept the Steelers in the thick of the playoff race.
