8. Ernie Stautner – Drafted 1950 in round 2 with the 22nd pick. Ernie played from 1950 to 1963 for the Steelers and played in 173 games, never missing a single game in his career. Again no true stat for tackles or sacks as they weren’t counted back then, but Stautner did have 2 career interceptions and 3 safeties to go with 23 fumble recoveries. Ernie was one of the best defensive players for the Steelers of this era, as he mad 9 Pro Bowls. Ernie was named to the Pro Football Hall Of Fame in 1969.
