9. Andy Russell – Drafted in 1963 in the 16th Round with Pick 220. Andy was the “Other” linebacker for the Steel Curtain of the mid 1970s. While you can’t measure Russell’s worth in sacks and tackles, because they weren’t official stats when he played, you can measure it in turnovers, as he had 18 interceptions and 10 fumble recoveries in his career. Andy was also responsible for mentoring Jack Ham and Jack Lambert, not exactly an easy task. Andy played in 168 games for the Steelers starting 123, and he helped the team win two Super Bowls.
