Alvin “Bud” Dupree (seen in the above image) of the University of Kentucky is not receiving much love and according to some odds-makers and NFL insiders may have that smile wiped right off his face come opening night of the 2015 NFL Draft. Note to Dupree: Keep smiling because pundits are often wrong, but if they aren’t this time, you have nice teeth.
Daniel Jeremiah, an NFL Media analyst at NFL.com placed Dupree at the top of his list of overvalued draft prospects saying, “I love Dupree’s potential, but he wasn’t a consistent player during his college career. He is going to get selected very high in this draft — in fact, I’ll be shocked if he doesn’t go in the top 10…”
No offense, but if I am Dupree, I would read that statement and say, “Huh?” Jeremiah says Dupree is overvalued but will be a top 10 pick. Whatever they are paying over at NFL.com headquarters, I would love, and I mean it, to be a media analyst. Please send me an email immediately. If you read the remainder of Jeremiah’s statement, you’ll see that he considers Dupree to be a player that needs time to develop into a quality player in the NFL. There rarely are players in any NFL Draft who don’t need time to adjust or develop.
I digress. Apparently odds-makers at FootballBettingCenter.com don’t think Dupree will make it as high as the top-10. He will be joined by several players that have visited with the Pittsburgh Steelers (which may be a bit troubling if you are a die-hard fan of the Black and Gold) according to their list. That could be in the Steelers’ favor, however. If they are jumping to get a hot-commodity cornerback in the first round (22 overall), a fall out of the first round for Dupree or others on this list may work for their second-round selection.

- FIELD: 15/1
In my opinion, this list of odds/players will be one to keep an eye on – even more than most of the hype over the first round. Players in this list are quality additions that would fit nicely with the Steelers and any of the other 31 NFL teams. The probability that some of the names are even listed here is high due to off-field issues (see Randy Gregory, for example).
My odds:
Probability that at least one player on the above list will be selected by the Steelers: High
(Sorry, I never quite understood the whole numbers system involved with betting because I don’t enjoy gambling)
