Quinten Rollins: Miami (Ohio), #2
Height: 6-0. Weight: 179
Projected 40 Time: 4.55
Projected Round (2015): 2-4
Rollins is a unique cornerback that many have dubbed a “project” due to his time in a basketball career at Miami (Ohio), but he was the 2014 MAC Defensive Player of the Year in football, logging 72 tackles, seven interceptions, four tackles for a loss, one forced fumble and nine passes broken up. In 12 games in 2014, Rollins became one of the top-ranked defensive backs. His solo tackles of 53 was ranked second on the team. Rollins was named the team’s MVP and earned the Mid-American Conference’s Defensive Player of the Year. His seven interceptions ranked third in the nation.
To be effective in the NFL, Rollins will need to beef up a bit but has an athleticism that resembles Darrelle Revis – a player that Rollins would like to emulate. His vertical ability was strengthened by his time on the basketball court and he has proven to be unafraid to go up for a ball in front of a receiver. Rollins has strong ball skills and great hands. His timing is heightened. Rollins has slowly been climbing the prospect board due to being an all-around athlete that would be a great special teams addition as well. Rollins shows no fear in making open-field tackles and has a great wrap up, something NFL teams cherish in defensive backs. Rollins could also be an option at the safety position.

We have needed a CB for a few season. I hope this season we will opt to draft one.
