If you think that athletes dont watch ESPN youre sadly mistaken , Ben Roethlisberger put that to rest once and for all . All week leading up to this game all you heard was how badly Andrew Luck would single handedly kill the Steelers . No mention was made of Ben Roethlisberger . Ben had other ideas . Granted Luck had a very good day against a suspect Steeler defense but that was expected coming in . For all the naysayers saying Ben is hurting the Steelers , Ben proved today just how valuable he is to the Steelers . He willed this team to victory and let the rest of the world know in the process that Im the same guy that led the Steelers to the Super Bowl three times in the last ten years with two victorys to show for it . Hes still here folks .

A better question is just how good is Haley? When Ben was freelancing and calling his own plays in the no-huddle only three weeks ago, the team struggled and lost. Now he’s playing within the offense and setting records and winning. Despite all the criticism Haley has received from fans, he must be doing something right.
The emergence of Bryant, Bey, Moore, and Wheaton can’t be over-estimated either. Teams can’t double team A. Brown anymore. These four receivers + H. Miller + Bell +_ W. Johnson gives us seven guys that can catch and run. Not many QBs have Ben’s array of options, including Luck. In other words, it isn’t all Ben and it never has been.

I agree wholeheartedly that it isnt all Ben . No one man is a team by himself . Never has been and never will be . The emergence of Martavis Bryant has been huge and as I stated in an earlier post , why Haley and Tomlin chose to leave him standing on the sideline for nearly half the season is in a word , mind boggling . With that being said . I just dont feel Ben gets the credit he deserves when you look at the complete body of work from 2004 till today . In the media , all you hear is Manning , Brady and Brees . Thats it . Tom Brady , I will give you . Hes got the stats and most importantly , the Vince Lombardi’s . Manning and Brees both have a million career passing yards , but guess who has more Lombardi trophys ? Ben Roethlisberger . Yet his name never enters the conversation . Its unfair and undeserved . By no means am I saying Ben is the best in the league , because he isnt , but dont tell me for a second that he doesnt deserve to be in the conversation as one of the best because he does . At the end of the day it boils down to this . The Steelers went from 1980 till 2005 without a Super

I would rather have Ben than Brady because Ben will lift his teammates while Brady likes to point fingers at his. I think Manning is a decent guy, but if you took him to a team with less targets and a running game, I don’t see him being hailed as loudly either. Brees is a super nice guy and can be clutch in critical situations. Switch him and Luck team-to-team, I bet Luck struggles and Bree’s improves. A quarterback is as good as the personnel around him. Take away his options except for his own two legs (and even that has shown ineffective i.e. RGIII) and he cant win the Lombardi. There is no QB ever that could walk onto the field and win a game without help.
