James Harrison is officially back with the Steelers.
Tuesday morning Harrison inked a deal with the black and gold, one that coach Mike Tomlin said was “a simple and easy decision” for the Steelers, who have been hit with injuries at the linebacker position.
“We know James. James knows us. James understands the schemes,” Tomlin said. “We’re going to do what he’s capable of handling from a mental standpoint and a physical standpoint.”
Harrison retired from the game for just 18 days, and it came after the team lost three starters on defense – cornerback Ike Taylor (broken right forearm), and linebackers Jarvis Jones (right wrist) and Ryan Shazier (right knee).
The former NFL Defensive Player of the Year will be in uniform for the Steelers Sunday vs the Bucs at home.
