The NFC North is as competitive a division in the NFL as ever in 2014, but the Packers may just have the tools to be Super Bowl bound in 2014 according to many league insiders. See how we rank the teams.
Christina Rivers’ NFC North Predictions for 2014
- Green Bay Packers
- Chicago Bears
- Minnesota Vikings
- Detroit Lions
Everybody is talking about the Green Bay Packers heading into the 2014 NFL regular season, and with good reason. Not only will they kick off play against the defending Super Bowl Champion Seattle Seahawks Thursday on prime-time, they have Aaron Rodgers and Eddie Lacy primed to pump their offense to a whole new level. Their hurry-up offense is efficient and their defense looks solid and balanced, even without B.J. Raji.
The team off of the radar is the Detroit Lions, with most NFL “experts” wagering that the Chicago Bears will take the second spot in the NFC North this season. That leaves the Minnesota Vikings and Lions to fight it out in a division that looks like it may be the Packers’ for the taking.
The Vikings look to have a quarterback advantage over the Bears, but Chicago has been putting an offense together that could technically challenge Green Bay for conference supremacy. On paper, Chicago also looks to have a better defense than Minnesota. Detroit is definitely the sleeper with pieces of a top-ten offense, but a weak secondary on defense. I’m not personally a big fan of any team in this division, but it’s difficult to say that Jay Cutler will be able to overcome what Rodgers puts up offensively this season. If Detroit can get the kinks worked out, they may steam into competition and catch everyone but the Packers off-guard.

Notwithstanding the Packers loss to Seattle Thursday night, they should win their division, barring injuries to key people. The Bears have gotten better, but they aren’t yet as consistent as the Packers. Good pick, Christina.
