Statement by NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell on the passing of Steelers HOF Coach Chuck Noll:
“What set Chuck Noll apart was his remarkable ability as a teacher. His subject was football and his students became four-time Super Bowl champions. Coach Noll’s quiet leadership produced extraordinary results that deeply inspired players, coaches and fans. He always put the team, his players, and the game first. His legacy of excellence will forever be an important part of the history of the Steelers and the NFL. We extend our condolences to Chuck’s wife Marianne, his son Chris, the Noll family, and the Steelers organization.”

Chuck Noll did shape the standard for what the Steelers became, and will always strive to be. Thanks for the great memories and the four Lombardi’s! Loved you and will always miss you Coach!

To take a collection of talent like Chuck had in the 70’s and keep all those ego’s in check and all on the same page was remarkable . He led by example and few words and his players respected him for it . At the end of the day he was every bit as dominant as Vince Lombardi was to the Packers . The only coach in the history of the NFL to win four Super Bowls . What else needs to be said ? He will be forever missed .
