The day football fans have waited for since the Super Bowl is now less than 24 hours away – the 2014 NFL Draft.
The draft is chock full of players that will have impact on teams starting this fall, and the Steelers need to get one of those playmakers with the 15th overall pick.
The team needs a corner, with Ike Taylor getting older and major questions at the other corner spot, it seems obvious that’s the spot to take.
With that, it looks like a choice that could very well happen would be Oklahoma State CB Justin Gilbert, a guy that hopefully would help the secondary from day one.
Here’s Walter Football on Gilbert going to the black and gold:
The Steelers always manage to secure a falling prospect. It was David DeCastro two years ago, and it happened to be Jarvis Jones last April. There’s a good chance that it’ll be Justin Gilbert this time around. Gilbert is this top corner in this class, but there isn’t much buzz surrounding him for some reason, despite his excellent Combine performance.
Pittsburgh has to address the cornerback position. Ike Taylor was dreadful this past year, as the receivers he battled – save for A.J. Green, oddly enough – posted season-high totals against him.
Let’s hear it Steeler Nation – if not Gilbert – than who – and why?

Gilbert may be dropping in stock. Better than Ha-ha though. Take him second round after we if no one bites. Gilbert that is.
