The 2004 NFL Draft is officially 10 years old today – April 24th, 2014. The Steelers were at a crossroads that afternoon in New York, when a quarterback that would change the face of the franchise fell in their laps with the 11th overall pick – Ben Roethlisberger.
“Big Ben” has made the Steelers into a yearly contender, winning a pair of Super Bowls, making it back to a third, and leading the team to the postseason in 6 of his 10 years under center.
Today we celebrate the Big Ben pick with a photo gallery of the Steelers QB that seems to be headed for a future spot in Canton at the Hall of Fame.

Its amazing when you think how many years the Steelers struggled because of mediocre quarterback play . From the time Terry Bradshaw retired in 1983 till 2004 when Ben came along this team had the likes of Bubby Brister , Kent Graham , David Woodley and Kordell Stewart . It just shows how important a true franchise quarterback is if you want to contend for a Super Bowl . If Ben manages to win another Super Bowl or at the very least makes it back to one , that will be four with two wins . His spot in Canton will be reserved and waiting for him as it should be .
