Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reported today that the Steelers had a chat with free agent safety Louis Delmas, the former Lion who was released last week.
The visit could be a signal forthcoming that the team is going to not make a strong push to bring back free agent to be Ryan Clark.
The Lions dumped the 26-year-old Delmas last week, this despite his starting 16 games last season and recording three picks with two sacks.
Delmas inked a deal before last season that was to pay him $9.5 mil over two years.
Detroit has stated they would like to bring back Delmas, but there’s nothing to say the Steelers can’t steal him away before that.
The Steelers have to make sure that Delmas is healthy, as he’s battled knee issues, and he wasn’t able to practice much last season.
