Two weeks remain in the NFL regular season, and today we tackle the games that will make up the slate for week 16, with the Steelers-Packers pick coming later on this week in our official game preview.
New England Patriots at Baltimore Ravens – The AFC Title Game two straight years, it’s a game the Ravens sorely need, yet with Joe Flacco nursing a knee issue, I think the Pats end any hopes of a division title dream and put a huge dent in their hopes for a wild card birth. New England 24 Baltimore 20
Cleveland Browns at New York Jets – This is the game that should be shown in the local prisons as punishment for bad behavior. Two bad teams playing out the stretch to get to 2014. The Browns can’t seem to stop anyone in the fourth quarter, but the Jets are simply a mess. Cleveland gets their second road win. Cleveland 16 NY Jets 14
Dallas Cowboys at Washington Redskins – It’s just crazy how bad the Cowboys D is, and against a solid QB in Kirk Cousins, the Redskins I think put a massive dent in the playoff hopes of Dallas with a win that sends them to 7-8 on the season. On a side note – Jerry Jones cleans house after the season. Washington 37 Dallas 28
Denver Broncos at Houston Texans – The Broncos get on track after a bad loss to the Chargers at home two weeks ago against a Texans team simply playing out the stretch with the #1 pick in the draft all but clinched. Denver 34 Houston 14
Indianapolis Colts at Kansas City Chiefs – The Colts have their division clinched, while the Chiefs are locked in for a wild card spot and are tied with the Broncos for the division title. With Indy trying to clinch the three spot, this will be a fun one that in the end will go to the Chiefs, who are 5-2 at home. Kansas City 24 Indianapolis 21
Miami Dolphins at Buffalo Bills – The Dolphins have their eyes on a wild card spot, and at 8-6 they can’t afford to slip up in Buffalo. The Bills got a win over the Jags a week ago, but won’t do enough on offense to beat what seems to be a focused Miami team. Miami 20 Buffalo 17
Minnesota Vikings at Cincinnati Bengals – The Steelers put a dent in the Bengals AFC North hopes last week, but they should recover against the Vikings at home. Look for in mild weather Andy Dalton and that Bengals offense to get off to a fast start and a win to set up a possible division title showdown with the Ravens next week. Cincinnati 35 Minnesota 23
New Orleans Saints at Carolina Panthers – A great NFC South game, as the Cats are looking to win the division with a home win over the Saints. New Orleans has major road issues, as shown last week against the Rams. Carolina is going to be seeking revenge after an awful loss two weeks ago on Sunday night vs the Saints, and I think they get it and the division title. Carolina 27 New Orleans 20
Tampa Bay Buccaneers at St. Louis Rams – The Rams are 6-8, and on a high after a big win over the Saints and Drew Brees a week ago. The Bucs have four wins, but against the Rams on turf, they won’t have the speed to counter what the Rams have to offer. St.Louis 29 Tampa Bay 13
Tennessee Titans at Jacksonville Jaguars – The Jags have shown signs of life under first-year coach Gus Bradley, winning four of their last six. The Titans have been awful on the road at 1-6, and the Jags will find a way to win this South battle late. Jacksonville 17 Tennessee 16
Arizona Cardinals at Seattle Seahawks – It’s been quite a turnaround for the Cards in 2013, sitting at 9-5 with Bruce Arians. The Hawks though are so good at home at 6-0, while the Cards are 3-4 away from Glendale. Look for the soon-to-be NFC Champs to win another one. Seattle 22 Arizona 14
New York Giants at Detroit Lions – The Giants are a train wreck, not even putting a point on the board last week vs the Seahawks at home. It’s going to be a easy day for the Lions at Ford Field in this one. Detroit 27 NY Giants 10
Oakland Raiders at San Diego Chargers – The .500 Chargers are still in the playoff mix, and have had 10 days to get ready for a Raiders team that gave up a ton of points and yards to the Chiefs a week ago. SD 31 Oakland 17
Chicago Bears at Philadelphia Eagles – The Bears have righted the ship with two straight wins, but the Eagles have played well at home. Philadelphia 24 Chicago 20
Monday Night:
Atlanta Falcons at San Francisco 49ers – The Falcons are clearly playing out the stretch, while the Niners want that first wild card spot, and with a home win over the beat up birds should be able to get it with relative ease. San Francisco 35 Atlanta 10
