Once again, Tomlin is threatening to replace everyone on the team, and as I have already noted the last time he said this, who does he have left? And if anyone recalls or cares, which I doubt, I did offer up all of the best P-G sportswriters, but they suffered season ending injuries putting on their replacement uniforms.
Empty threats make for empty results. This team is bad, he knows and we all know it. Why not be honest with yourself, and do the best you can, but stop making ridiculous comments.
So now what? Wait just in, hot off the presses, Kevin Colbert and Mike Tomlin were holding secret tryouts with many of the P-G newspaper delivery truck drivers. If they can drive a truck, they certainly drive down the field and score.
Whoops! Just heard from the P-G management, company policy, “12-4 section 6 under “Truck Usage” P-G deliver trucks may only be used for delivering newspapers.” Foiled again, but wait again, these trucks go out every day delivering the bad news each week about the Steelers. I have an idea, why can’t LeBeau call a defensive scheme that has the defensive team sneak in at night and let all of the air out of all of the trucks so the bad news can’t be delivered? While they’re out letting the hot air out of the truck tires, have them do the same to Tomlin. Hot air is his specialty, while all of us are left out in the cold.
I was a Tomlin fan, like all of us, but the true measure of a coach is what he does under extreme adversity, well this is beyond adverse, this is a Greek tragedy. Maybe Plato has an answer?
