Get ready, get set – Week 8 of the NFL season is just about to get underway, and today we give you our picks (just not the Steelers) and how we think things will go over the weekend.
Thursday:
Carolina at Tampa Bay – The Bucs stink. They will play inspired being on prime-time, but they will be no match for Cam Newton and company. Carolina 24 Tampa Bay 10
Sunday:
Dallas at Detroit – A good NFC game, but Tony Romo and the Cowboys really need this game if they are going to win the NFC East, and I think they are three points better than the Lions. Dallas 27 Detroit 24
Miami at New England – The two losing AFC East teams from a week ago do battle in New England, where I think Tom Brady picks up from a tough loss and leads the Pats to a win over their fishy rivals. New England 28 Miami 16
Cleveland at Kansas City – Jason Campbell is going to start for the Browns, like that’s going to make much difference. The Browns are headed for their usual 5-11 spot, while the Chiefs are the new #1 ranked team after their win Sunday. Love the Chiefs here. Kansas City 31 Cleveland 17
San Francisco at Jacksonville – While the Jags put up a fight a few weeks back vs the Broncos, I don’t see them able to handle Kapernick and the 49ers here, with San Fran piling up points. San Francisco 35 Jacksonville 10
NY Giants at Philadelphia – The Giants got their first win Monday night, and the Eagles were terrible against the Cowboys last week. Look for New York to turn it up on defense and find a way to halt a not 100 percent Mike Vick. NY Giants 17 Philadelphia 14
Buffalo at New Orleans – Buffalo scored a win over the Dolphins last week, but have to face a rested Saints team at home, which won’t be easy. Look for the Saints to put up points and send the Bills back to Buffalo with their 5th loss. New Orleans 34 Buffalo 20
NY Jets at Cincinnati – The Jets pulled off a huge home win over the Pats last week, but the Bengals are at home and are playing well and with confidence, and will stop Geno Smith enough for a win. Cincinnati 23 NY Jets 14
Washington at Denver – Peyton Manning has a gimpy ankle, but they will still have enough for a win after their first loss in Indy. RGIII is playing better, but not enough to stop the Broncos, who will go after him all day and stop him enough to get the win. Denver 37 Washington 28
Atlanta at Arizona – Hard to believe how the Falcons have slouched so badly after a huge season last year, but they are 2-4, and now face a Cards team that seems to play well at home, so oddly enough look for Atlanta to be 2-5 after this one. Arizona 17 Atlanta 16
Green Bay at Minnesota – The Vikings are pretty bad, and now they take on their rivals at home. While just like the Bucs, the Vikings will have inspiration against their rivals, but the Packers are simply too good and will get the road win. Green Bay 27 Minnesota 17
Monday:
Seattle at St.Louis – The Rams gave Brett Favre’s agent a call today about coming back. Unreal. Seattle 20 St.Louis 6
