It’s week Six of the NFL season, and while there’s a couple good games, it’s not the best slate we’ve seen this season by far.
Here’s our picks, with of course the Steelers-Jets pick coming later in our official preview.
Cincinnati at Buffalo – The Bengals beat the Pats at home last week, and while their offense hasn’t been great, they still appear to be the class of the division. Cincinnati 23 Buffalo 14
St.Louis at Houston – Could this be the upset game of the week? Maybe, but not in Houston, where the Texans always seem to play well enough. Look for the fans to not boo Matt Schaub out of the building this week. Houston 17 St.Louis 13
Oakland at Kansas City – How are the Chiefs unbeaten? Easy, good defense, and not making a ton of silly mistakes on offense. At home no doubt despite the upset the Raiders had last week they will be able to beat the Silver and Black. Kansas City 27 Oakland 17
Carolina at Minnesota – The Vikings come off the bye after beating the Steelers, and take on a Cats team that just isn’t very good. No Adrian Peterson, which is tragic based on the circumstances, but I still think they have enough defense here. Minnesota 13 Carolina 9
Philadelphia at Tampa Bay – Tough game to call, the Eagles have shown flashes, but in Tampa I think the Bucs rise up with a could late stops to stop the beat up Eagles to go onto a win. Tampa Bay 14 Philadelphia 10
Green Bay at Baltimore – Aaron Rodgers and the Pack couldn’t close out a win in Cincy a few weeks back, but I think in Baltimore where the Ravens haven’t exactly dominated, they will find a way to get the job done and send the Ravens to another tough loss. Green Bay 31 Baltimore 27
Detroit at Cleveland – Don’t look now, but the Browns have a winning record. Detroit seems to be very up and down, good one week, awful the next. It was their awful week last week vs the Pack, so this week the honeymoon for the Browns starts to close with a Lions win. Detroit 23 Cleveland 17
Tennessee at Seattle – Always tough to win in Seattle, and while the Titans played gutsy in a loss to the Chiefs a week ago at home, in Seattle they will be no match for Russell Wilson and the Hawks. Seattle 27 Tennessee 10
Jacksonville at Denver – Some say the 27-point spread is way too much in a NFL game. I don’t share that same opinion watching the Jaguars over the first six weeks. They are bad – worst team in football. Denver 51 Jacksonville 17
Arizona at San Francisco – Arizona showed some fight a week ago, beating the Panthers, but winning on the road against the Niners is another story. Look for San Fran to take out the Cards for a much needed win. San Francisco 28 Arizona 16
New Orleans at New England – Not sure what to expect from the Pats here, off a loss in which they scored just six last week, all the sudden they play a Saints team that can score. I think many will look at this as a shootout, but in the end, I like the Pats in a game that will be more low-scoring than what many think. New England 20 New Orleans 17
Washington at Dallas – Always a fun game to watch on MNF, last season it was RGIII in Dallas stealing the show on Thanksgiving. It’s a new year, and while the Cowboys had a shot to beat Denver last week, this week I think they stop Griffin and in a hard fought win top the Redskins. Dallas 24 Washington 17
Monday:
Indianapolis at San Diego – The Chargers were a surprise team until last week when they ran into the Raiders who seemed inspired to win. Now they go up against Andrew Luck and the Colts, who just seem to find ways to pull out wins. I can’t see them falling here to a Chargers team that gives up too many points. Indianapolis 26 San Diego 17
