With a run game that has seen their top rusher from last season released, and their top rookie down with injury, it appears that backup Isaac Redman will get the ball first Sunday vs the Titans.
“I go out there with the first team, do the first four reps, that’s normally what the starter does,” Redman to Post-Gazette. “I’m just preparing as I’m the starter until they tell me otherwise.”
When Redman doesn’t get the ball, carries should go to newly signed Felix Jones, former first-round pick of the Cowboys, and also LaRod Stephens-Howling, who is coming off from a sprained MCL.
The Tribune-Review is stating the team is hopeful is some way that rookie Le’Veon Bell will be able to go Sunday, but that’s not likely to happen and it would not shock if he’s ruled out by Sunday.
Bottom line is it’s Redman’s job, and if he can get the job done, it will go a long way in earning him more carries as the season progresses.
