With the season just a few days away, it’s time to start going through the rest of the league, doing some of our own division previews.
Today we will take a look at the NFC West, where there’s no doubt there’s an up and coming team that looks like they could be a serious contender in the NFC.
1. Seattle Seahawks (11-5)
2. San Francisco 49ers (10-6)
3. St.Louis Rams (8-8)
4. Arizona Cardinals (4-12)
The Seahawks are the class of the division, Russell Wilson is going to have a big season, and his running mate, Marshawn Lynch, has new life in Seattle.
Their pass rush is also very good, and the secondary has a bunch of Pro Bowl players.
San Fran is still a very good team, and there’s no doubt they could still repeat as the NFC Champs, but I think their due to be down a little bit after a couple great seasons.
Colin Kaepernick will have a tough time repeating what he did last season, and that’s the biggest reason I think the Niners won’t be as good.
I like the direction of Jeff Fisher’s Rams, but they have a long way to go on defense to make any serious noise in the division. On offense they have a lot of good young weapons, but they are probably 1-2 years away.
The Cardinals will go with Carson Palmer at QB. Enough said? Yeah, you gotta have an eye on a team with Bruce Arians as their coach, but I think overall they will be a team that could lose 6 games in their division, and then three more to the tough NFC South.
