A beautiful day in Latrobe was once again hit by the injury bug for the black and gold, and today it came in the form of rookie running back Le’Veon Bell.
Bell, who was just named co-starter with Isaac Redmen for Monday’s game vs the Redskins in DC, aggravated a left knee injury during practice.
The injury took place during team drills, and Bell was hit by a defender at a time when it appeared he wasn’t ready to be hit, and he may have been thinking instead it was a ‘wrap up ‘and not a hitting drill.
The rookie had ice on the knee the rest of practice. As for the extent of the injury, Mike Tomlin said that the injury will be reevaluated.
Bell missed the game vs the Giants at home on Saturday due to a sore knee, so it’s safe to say that so far in a couple weeks the Steelers new possible workhorse back isn’t off to a very good start when it comes to staying healthy.
On a happy note, James Wexell from Steelers Digest doesn’t think the injury is going to sideline Bell for long.
I've talked to a couple of #Steelers, who don't believe Bell's injury is serious.
