The Steelers have added another player to help for some depth on the offensive line, as the team announced they have inked offensive tackle Mike Farrell.
Farrell, who played at Penn State, is 6-6 and weighs 303 pounds.
According to NFL Draft Scout, Farrell “Arrived in State College at just 265 pounds but added weight and finally got his chance to start as a senior, exceeding expectations at both left and right tackle in 2012. – Dane Brugler, NFLDraftScout.com “
Back in April the Post-Gazette wrote a whole piece on Farrell, and how nerve wracking it is going into the draft not knowing if the phone is going to ring or not.
It didn’t then, but it did for Farrell and his family now, with the Black and Gold calling on the other end.
With Farrell aboard, the team has released CB Buddy Jackson.
Jackson didn’t last long with the Steelers after being awarded to the team after he was released by the Chiefs back on August 1st.
The 6’1, 180-pound CB came to the NFL as an undrafted free agent with the Colts back in 2012. He’s also played with the Skins and Chiefs in his time in the NFL, and now will look for another team to audition for.
