It’s the month that Steeler fans all over the world wait for – the start of training camp and the countdown to opening day.
Steelers training camp at Saint Vincent College in Latrobe is closing in, and while the team still has yet to release the full schedule, we know the following about dates for the summer.
Players will report to camp on July 26th, and the first open practice will be held on July 27th, which is free (all open practices are), and parking is also free.
The first practice in pads is scheduled for July 29th, and all open practices begin at 3 p.m. unless otherwise noted.
The annual night practice at Latrobe Memorial Stadium is scheduled for 7 p.m. on August 2nd. Fans pay a fee that benefits youth athletic programs in the Greater Latrobe School District.
A second evening practice will be held from 5:30-7:30 p.m. on August 14th at Saint Vincent College.
For those fans that are into getting player autographs, players may sign autographs after practice if they choose.
There are designated areas for fans to wait if they want to try for an autograph.
“The Steelers Experience” takes place at an adjacent field, with games and exhibits for fans, typically running from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. on days when camp is open to the public.
Camp will break on August 18th.
The team will have two home preseason games – Saturday August 10th vs New York Giants at 7:30 p.m.
The second will be on Saturday August 24th at Heinz Field vs Kansas City, and also will be at 7:30 p.m.
