Two seasons ago the Browns had to go with rookie QB Colt McCoy vs the Steelers in Pittsburgh in his first NFL start. Sunday, they will have to throw in an even more of an unknown vs the Steelers in the season finale.
The Browns will start Thaddeus Lewis, this after head coach Pat Shurmur ruled out starter Brandon Weeden as well as backup Colt McCoy with injuries.
“He’s done great,” Shurmur said of Lewis this in getting set this last week. “He’s had a good week of practice. He’s been preparing himself to play all year even though he wasn’t on the active roster. We anticipate and what we expect is that he goes out and plays winning football.”
