It comes as not much of a shock but the Steelers will once again Sunday be without the services of playmaking safety Troy Polamalu.
Head coach Mike Tomlin ruled out Polamalu along with and offensive tackle Marcus Gilbert for Sunday’s home matchup vs the Redskins.
Polamalu has been battling his current calf injury since last season, and despite returning for a short time vs the Eagles, won’t be rushed back into the lineup.
Gilbert damaged tendons in his ankle against the Titans in a week six loss in Tennessee.
There is some good news, that being center Maurkice Pouncey likely will be back in the lineup after sitting out last week’s game with a sprained MCL.
Pouncey nearly was back on the field vs the Bengals, and made strides leading up to the game, so he should be back this week vs Washington.
