Don’t look now, but add bum ankle to the rotator cuff issue for Steelers QB Ben Roethlisberger.
Roethlisberger sprained his left ankle on a 20-yard scoring strike to receiver Emmanuel Sanders late in practice when he was stepped on by a lineman.
Big Ben limped off the field and had an ice pack taped to his troublesome ankle. “It was my bad ankle,” Roethlisberger said, standing at mid-field after practice at St. Vincent’s College.
Ugh. Not what this team needs right now, as they are dealing with the Mike Wallace holdout, as well as trying to get a new offense with new OC Todd Haley down pat before next weeks first preseason game.

You’re still the man Ben, work through this!

I believe this story is huge. What’s Ben’s definition of “small” when it comes to his labrum tear? There is no magic potion, magic wand, or magic formula with a torn labrum. And is it a labrum or rotator cuff tear? He told the Post Gazette he has a torn rotator cuff. So which is it?
In either case, I suppose the Steelers will be keeping all 4 QBs in tow this season. So what is Hines’ phone number again?
Yep, there will be a running game this season.
