It’s a day off for the Black and Gold, as the team is not on the practice field today.
Per the new CBA agreed upon last year during the lockout, NFL players are required to have a day off per week during training camp. After four consecutive days of practces, the Steelers first off day is today.
“The big thing is if they take advantage of it and get better,” coach Mike Tomlin said. “Physically and mentally prepare their bodies for the next opportunity to come out and show what they’re capable of.”
Players said there are no restrictions on how they can spend their time during the day off, although a curfew is expected.
After today, the next off day for the Steelers is August 6th.
