Ben Roethlisberger has a sprained left foot according to Chris Mortensen of ESPN per team sources. The sources, however, would not speculate on the quarterback’s status for the Steelers’ game Sunday against the Tennessee Titans.
A scan performed Monday on Roethlisberger’s left foot was negative for a fracture, the sources said. An MRI on Sunday had indicated a possible fracture but the test was inconclusive because of swelling in the foot.
Roethlisberger on Sunday said his foot was injured on the second-to-last series of the Steelers’ 17-10 loss to the Houston Texans when he was tackled from behind. He remained in the game but had trouble walking afterward in the locker room.
He was wearing a walking boot when he left the stadium.

Need to clean house including coach. Tomlin inherited Cowlers players. Since then has did jack shit. He’s bull shiter that has no vision. If not for Big Ben he would be selling programs at a Tampa game. Get rid of the Bum. He’s no blue collar Pittsburgh type of guy.

Ed you could be potentially the biggest idiot in Steelers Nation. You’re a typical yinzer Pollack.

Tony your probably one of the one’s that don’t think George w. Bush ruined this country with his “Weapons of Mass destruction”. You and your mother nationally are in question. Tomlin lost that loven feeling and has no way out but the unemployment line. Sticking with old hens has made him obselete. Tony your a loser from hicksville.

Ed enough of your political rhetoric, its out played. However, I agree to a certain degree that Tomlin is overrated. Ever since Cowher left, the team has had a complete lack of discipline. Seriously, Wallace got called for taunting in a critical time when the steelers were fighting for any kind of momentum. Who here doesn’t miss Cowher’s chin and glaring at the players, then showering them with spit as he rips their heads off?

I do miss it. No to digress but I can’t, for the life of me, figure out how Andrew Filliponi has a job!?! I can’t. I mean, I’m smarter than him but was unemployed for a long time? I’m calling you out, Andrew, you’re a dipshit from hicksville. How in the name of God, can you opine with such radio tough guy certainty, that the defense is to blame for the Houston loss?!? I’m not exonerating them but for you to exonerate a unit that scored ten points while getting their elite QB sacked and hurried all day long means you probably scored your cock size on the wonderlic…a three (I ain’t no homo, I’m just guessing). Dude, I live near Philly and the fans and radio medium here may be arrogant and obnoxious but AT LEAST THEY’RE SMART!!!!! If you score ten points in an era that is offensive based, it is your offenses fault especially when the other unit scores 17! ‘I don’t care that it never used to happen to the defense, they’re in a transition period up front you no-football knowing moron…I expect when dudes get old up front and new dudes are coming in that you will struggle initially. The fact that they have all young dudes and dudes in their primes and they suck on top of it concerns me.. Andrew, go fuck yourself and stay off the radio and let people on who know what they’re talking about. You’d never survive in Philly, although I’m sure you applied there (because most aspiring sports journalists do) I wish I could’ve seen the look on your face when they laughed you out the door!

Thank you, George H., for trying to insert a bit of reason and civility in to this vulgar vituperative.
Gentlemen, the issue before us is Ben’s injured left foot. The remedy, for Bruce Arians’ benefit, is to run the ball. Often. Consistently. With Redman and Moore! Use the pass to stretch the field and to keep the defense honest. But RUN the ball.
If you do that, Bruce, it won’t matter who plays QB. If Ben makes it back — and I think he will — running the ball will keep defenders off Ben’s back and away from his injured foot. If you run the ball, you will play to the strength of your O-line, control the clock, rest the defense, and keep the opposing offense off the field. That’s good for the team, Bruce.
We know you can do it, Bruce. Get out last week’s tape and watch the third quarter. Watch Redman and Moore blast through the vaunted Texans’ defense. Watch Pouncey,Foster and Gilbert make gaping holes for our backs. That’s what a running game looks like. Do it on Sunday, Bruce, and we win. Ignore the run, and a hobbled Ben may not last the game.
For further insight on running the ball, Bruce, please call Chuck Noll or Bill Cowher. I’ll bet Dan Rooney still has their numbers somewhere.

Classic, Doc, classic! When I think of Bruce Arians, if we were going to play name association, I think of Mike Martz! They both have offensive passing addiction issues. I could just see them at a PA (passaholics anonymous) meeting with Andy Reid chairing:
Reid: “Ahem, Uh, this meeting is called to, mmm-hmmm, order, time’s yours. Oh, I almost forgot, mmmmmmmmmmmm-hhhhmmmmmmmmm, newcomer Bruce…
HI BRUCE!
…and hos sponsor Mike…
HI MIKE!
…will read the 12 steps…
Mike: “Step 1, admitted we were powerless over the pass and that our teams had become unmanageable…Step 2, came to believe that an angry fan base could restore us to the run…step 3, Made a decision to turn our playbooks over to the head coach…Step 4, took a fearless and moral inventory of run plays…step 5, admitted to our coaches, GM and fan base the exact nature of our wrongs…step 6, were entirely ready to have our head coach remove our headsets…”
Hands steps 7-12 over to Bruce…
Bruce: “Do I have to do this…Step 7, humbly asked God why he made me a pass happy douche bag…step 8, made a list off all fans we had harmed and became willing to run the ball more…step 9, made direct amends by running the ball more…Step 10, continued to run the ball and when we felt like passing, promptly admitted it…step 11, sought through prayer and meditation to run the ball more…Step 12, Having had a spiritual awakening from running the ball more, we carried this message to future OC’s whenever possible.”
