Tight end/wide receiver Dorin Dickerson has quit the Pittsburgh Steelers’ practice squad. A native of the Pittsburgh area and former wide receiver at the University of Pittsburgh, Dickerson was signed to the practice squad on Monday and practiced on Wednesday.
The 6-foot-1, 220-pound Dickerson was a seventh-round pick (227th overall) of the Houston Texans in 2010. Dickerson was active for seven games as a rookie, but did not catch a pass. In two preseasons with the Texans, Dickerson caught 10 passes for 111 yards.
To replace Dickerson, the Steelers have signed fullback Jamie McCoy to the practice squad.
