Will Dennis Dixon Even Make the Final Roster?

Gerry Dulac of the Post-Gazette reports that QB Dennis Dixon may be the odd man out in Pittsburgh even though he signed his tender this week. Right now it appears that veteran Charlie Batch will get the No.3 quarterback job instead of Dixon.

Batch, 36, showed last season he could still be an effective backup, helping the Steelers to a 3-1 start when Roethlisberger was serving a four-game suspension. He also has a lower salary as Dixon is due $12 million. Batch is in his 14th NFL season. All four quarterbacks will remain on the roster through training camp to protect the team from injury.

Matt Loede has been in the sports media for over 16 years, with experience covering the MLB, NBA, and NFL. On Sunday’s during football season, you can hear Matt on national networks like Fox Sports Radio, Associated Press, and others. Born and raised in Cleveland Ohio, Matt studies and talks football inside and out, and is anxious to share his thoughts and comments with readers on a daily basis.

I hope he does not make the roster. We dont need 4 QBs, he showed nothing last year, Dixon has a weak arm, I dont think we want another Kordella Stewart. Keep Lefty and Batch

You really make it appear so easy along with your presentation however I to find this matter to be really one thing that I feel I would by no means understand. It seems too complex and extremely wide for me. I’m looking forward on your next put up, I’ll try to get the dangle of it!
