Ryan Clark has been in the middle of a lot of Steelers-Ravens games, and thinks that the bad blood between the two teams doesn’t actually mean it’s a rivalry.
“People try to make this game between the Ravens and the Steelers as so much of a rivalry, a fight,” Clark told 93.7 The Fan in Pittsburgh by way of Sportsradiointerviews. “You can say it’s a rivalry if you like, but I really truly feel that for a game to be a rivalry, it doesn’t have to just be physical. I think for something to be a rivalry, both teams have to win equally. I think just the hate between the fans doesn’t make a situation a rivalry.”
What Clark is really stating is until the Ravens beat the Steelers when it counts (and not in a week four game against the Steelers 3rd string QB in the last 30 seconds), the “rivalry” is rather one-sided.
