I’m not gonna lie, I haven’t been watching this season with “Dancing with the Stars” even with former Super Bowl MVP and Steeler favorite Hines Ward on it. I know it’s a popular show, and you can’t seem to turn on the radio without hearing about it, but life always seems to get in the way Monday night, and then I never get around to even putting it on the DVR.
With that said, we have have a few updates on Ward and he seems to be doing very well on the show. Monday night he scored high marks that seems to say he will stay in the competition for awhile longer. Here’s the NY Daily News recap of Ward on the show.
What could have – and at times did turn out to be – a campy “America night” on “Dancing with the Stars” ironically ushered in some competitors’ best performances to date Monday night.
Following last week’s classical week and the previous week’s emotional personal week, the celebs’ only task this week was to pay homage to the good ole U.S. of A in several stunning performances.
Hines Ward led the pack once more with a smooth-moving rumba that captured solid 9’s across the board from the judges, despite his self-proclaimed “caveman” antics during practices.
“I dropped Kym, we bumped heads, I punched her,” the NFL Steelers wide receiver grinned. “It wasn’t romantic at all.”
But maybe practicing with a pillow stand-in outside the studio paid off after all, because Hines was able to accomplish his goal for the week: beat Ralph Macchio’s score for his rumba the previous week.
