Happy 30th Birthday to Steelers safety Troy Polamalu, who hits the milestone of the Big 3-0 today. The safety joined the Steelers 8 long years ago at the age of 22, and has two Super Bowl rings, a third trip to the big game, as well as a NFL Defensive Player of the Year award this past season on his resume.
Here’s what James Walker of ESPN had to say about Polamalu turning 30, and what it could mean to the team moving forward.
The age of 30 is significant for NFL players. But Polamalu, when healthy, has showed no signs of slowing down. He is the NFL’s reigning defensive player of the year after recording 63 tackles and seven interceptions this past season, and many of his big plays came in clutch moments.

On behalf of Troy, I appreciate the birthday shout out. I’m a very professional head of hair so I will display no resentment for your lack of acknowledgment of me in this post.
