The Ravens worked out University of Tennessee-Chattanooga cornerback Buster Skrine Thursday, and according to the National Football Post, the Steelers will also get a look at Skrine at some point with a meeting and workout.
University of Tennessee-Chattanooga cornerback Buster Skrine conducted a private workout today for the Baltimore Ravens.
Skrine has upcoming meetings and workouts with the New England Patriots, Cleveland Browns, Cincinnati Bengals and the Pittsburgh Steelers.
Skrine ran the fastest 40-yard dash at the NFL scouting combine with an unofficial 4.29 time with other stopwatches recording him between 4.34 and 4.37 seconds.
Slightly underized at 5-foot-9, 186 pounds, Skrine is projected as a middle-round draft selection who’s on the rise.
“He loves football, he’s an unbelievable worker,” Tennessee-Chattanooga coach Russ Huesman said. “He has a great work ethic, he takes coaching. He’s one of the best that I’ve ever been around in 30 years of coaching. He’s a great kid. It didn’t take long for us to see that burst. He picked a ball off and it was like he was shot out of the cannon. He has special gifts.
“It’s not just the speed. He has great hips and feet. He tested off the charts. He represented himself well at the combine. We’ve been told he handled himself in individual meetings. The teams were very impressed.”
